Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take for my art to arrive?

Because each painting requires meticulous creation and proper drying time, please refer to the following schedule: Total Estimated Delivery Time: 12 – 21 Business Days

Production Time (7–14 Business Days): This is the time required for professional artists to hand-paint your order and for the paint to cure sufficiently for safe packaging.

Transit Time (5–7 Business Days): Once shipped, items typically arrive via trusted premium carriers including DHL, FedEx, or UPS Express.

We offer three options.

If you purchase the framed / frameless option, we will provide the hooks so you can hang it easily when you receive it.

If you purchase a rolled painting, you will need to find a local gallery to frame it for you. They will install the hooks for you.

Commissioning a custom oil portrait is a personal journey, and a few key considerations will help your finished piece look stunning in your space. Here are our artists’ tips for selecting the perfect portrait:
Determine the Location — Start by identifying where you want to hang your portrait. This will help you visualize how the artwork will fit into the overall design of the room. Measure the wall space before choosing a size — it will guide you toward the ideal canvas dimensions for your commission.
Consider Size and Scale — Bigger is Better: For hand-painted oil portraits, a larger canvas (such as our popular 16×20 or a statement 24×36) gives the artist room to render fine facial detail and rich brushwork texture. An oversized portrait draws attention and becomes the conversation piece of your home. Small Spaces: In a cozy room, an 8×10 or 11×14 portrait feels intentional and intimate — perfect for shelves, desks, and bedside tables. You can also group several smaller portraits together to create a cohesive family gallery wall that fills the area beautifully.
Eye Level Placement — A good rule of thumb is to center the portrait at eye level, so it is easily viewed and appreciated. Consider whether you will typically be standing or sitting in the space: in a living room where people often sit, aim for a lower height than in a hallway or entryway where people are usually standing.
Color and Theme — This is where a custom portrait truly shines. Our artists can tailor the background, lighting, and tonal palette of your painting to complement your existing decor — simply share a photo of your room, and we will design the backdrop around your furniture, textiles, and wall paint. Pair it with a classic wooden frame for traditional interiors, or choose a frameless gallery wrap for a clean, modern look.
Style and Mood — Reflect on the atmosphere you want to create. A formal studio-style portrait brings timeless elegance to a dining room or study, while a relaxed outdoor setting adds warmth and life to a family room. A pet portrait full of personality can bring joy to an entryway or hallway. Choose the mood that resonates with the ambiance you wish to cultivate.
Personal Connection — Unlike ready-made art, your portrait begins with your own memory. Select a photo with genuine emotion, sharp detail, and good lighting — a candid smile often paints more beautifully than a posed one. If you are unsure, send us a few options: our artists review every photo before painting and will gladly advise which one will make the most compelling portrait.
By considering these factors, your custom portrait will not only fit your room perfectly — it will become a hand-painted heirloom that enriches your home and tells your story for generations.

Estimated total delivery time: 12–21 business days. Production usually takes 7–14 business days, followed by approximately 5–7 business days in transit after dispatch. Timing can vary slightly by artwork and destination.

We ensure artworks are shipped according to strict safety guidelines based on the format you choose:

Rolled Canvas (Ships in a Tube): The canvas is rolled and placed in a dent-resistant tube. This is the safest method for oversized works and allows for easy stretching or framing by your local framer.

Small Framed/Stretched Art (Ships in a Box): Shipped flat in a sturdy, well-protected cardboard box with ample cushioning support.

Large Framed/Stretched Art (Ships in a Crate): Shipped in a custom-built, heavy-duty wooden crate designed for international art transport, tightly sealed and secured.
